Vero Beach / Indian River Chapter of RFCI

(2019) The club is currently inactive. The organizers since 1980 are no longer involved, and no one else has stepped in to take their place.

(2018) Getting the club restarted will take new volunteers who can organize it.

(2017.08.24) Until further notice, the Indian River Chapter meetings are cancelled due to construction. The new construction is scheduled to be complete fall of ’17; stay tuned for an update…
In the meantime, check out other Rare Fruit clubs statewide.
The closest are in Melbourne and Port St Lucie.

. July 7   To be rescheduled: this date was set up before the decision was made to go ahead with demolition this year. Notice will go out here and to the email list once we know more.

FYI: Beachland Elementary is scheduled for a major building project this year. The cafeteria where the club meets along with most of the class rooms and courtyards surrounding it will be demolished starting in June ’16. (Along with decades of fruit trees and rare natives planted by club founders Allan McCarthy and Lee Rathbun.)

Meetings are held about every other month, first Thursday, at 7:30 PM in the cafeteria at Beachland Elementary School just east of the Barber bridge in Vero Beach, and are open to the public.

Member dues: $15 annual.
